Sections
Championship
– Open to all players. The winner will receive the county championship trophy
for one year and will be the “Leicestershire County Champion 2007.”
Challengers
– Open to players graded below 150. The winner will receive the challengers
trophy for one year and will be the “Leicestershire U150 County Champion 2007.”
U125
- Open to players graded below 125. The winner will receive the U125 trophy for
one year and will be the “Leicestershire U125 County Champion 2007.”
U100
- Open to players graded below 100. The winner will receive the U100 trophy for
one year and will be the “Leicestershire U100 County Champion 2007.”
It is intended that each section
will be run separately as a 5 round swiss, however this may vary dependent upon
the number of entries. The controller reserves the right to merge 2 or more
sections in the event of insufficient entries in any section, or to revert to an
all play all or some other format as he sees fit.
Players may enter up to two
sections, provided they are eligible for both.

Venue :
Matches will be scheduled to be played at The Plough Inn, Littlethorpe although
games may also be played at an alternative, mutually agreed, venue.
Playing Schedule
: One round per month ; May to September. Games will be scheduled for Monday,
Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Players may ‘close’ dates when they are
unavailable eg on holiday, and also state a preference for a particular night if
required. Closed dates will always be respected whilst every effort will be
made to meet player’s preferences. Every effort will also be made to keep
players from the same club apart in the early rounds.
Travelling :
We will always accommodate joint travelling where requested. If you need a
lift, let us know and we will put you in touch with another player from your
locality.
Time Control
: 35 moves in 70 minutes, followed by an additional 20 minutes for all remaining
moves All games will be submitted to ECF for grading.
Grades
: 2006 ECF grades will be used for the purposes of this competition. Ungraded
players will use their last published grade. Players who have never had a
published grade will be allocated an estimate based on previous performances.
Grades once allocated will remain for the duration of the tournament.
Ties
: In the event of two or more
players finishing tied for first place, a play off shall be arranged to
determine the champion. The nature of the play off shall be determined once the
number of tied players is known, but it will be a series of rapidplay games.
Any player refusing to take part in such a play off shall be deemed to have
withdrawn from the event.
Notices
: The submission of an entry form is acceptance that the controller’s decision
is final in all matters and that grading
information may being published on the ECF Website.
